Eligible grades: K-5, 6-8
The CMC Decatur Fall break camp will focus on the best of the 1980s rock scene. We've designed the program to be the perfect blend of legitimate training and immersion in the music and good old-fashioned fun. Elementary school age students are invited to join us for a full week or come on one or more selected days via the Music School Day Pass. Activities will include lessons, classes, singing, and ensemble playing with Center faculty and fellow students.
Full Day: $295 per week
Half Day morning (8 to 12:30) or afternoon (12:30 to 6:00): $195 per week
Drop in: Full Day $65 per day, Half Day $45 per day
Conservatory for Kids Camp Series
The CMC Decatur American Roots & Folk Music Day Camp is part of our Conservatory for Kids Camp Series. Conservatory for Kids camps are suitable for both beginners and more advanced students. Depending on the student's background, the camps introduce or deepen a student's familiarity with a musical style or tradition.During the camps, each student meets one-on-one or in small groups with a primary studio instructor for a 30- to 45-minute lesson on an instrument of choice or for vocal coaching. Students sing, drum, and also study notation, theory, and composition or song-writing through creatively designed and fun hands on classes, activities, and projects. Arts and crafts activities focus on music-related art and building primitive instruments reflective of the style or tradition. Faculty and guest performers also entertain and dazzle campers. Like all Conservatory for Kids camps, the American Roots & Folk Music Camp will include ample break time and work on camp projects outdoors around and nearby the Center to meet the developmental needs of the enrolled children.

Who is eligible? +
Day Camps are designed for students in rising grades K-5. We divide campers by age and skill, so we welcome absolute beginners and more advanced students alike. Please note: if you're looking for programs for older students, please visit the summary of programs for middle and high school students. You'll find information and the online registration there for students grade 6-8 and 9-12. -

We offer Day Camps for Kids at three CMC Atlanta locations: CMC Little 5 Points CMC Decatur CMC Dunwoody -
When? +
We offer camps year round just about any time local schools are closed. Our Summer Day Camps start right after Memorial Day and run through the beginning of August. Full Day Camp is available from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm; Half Day is also available, morning of afternoon. Half Day is 8:00 am to 12:30 pm or 12:30 pm to 6:00 pm. How much? +
Day Camp tuition for grades K-5 ranges from $320 to $425 per week for full day attendance. Half Day attendance (morning or afternoon) ranges from $225 to $300 per week. Camp theme activities run from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Free extended day allows for drop off as early as 8:00 am and pick up ends at 6:00 pm. Day Pass
Sometimes parents don't want or need to enroll a student in full or half day camp for a full week. In this situation, we offer Music School Day Passes, which allow for a day of camp attendance on chosen days:
- Full Day Pass, $85 per day, drop off begins at 8 am, pickup ends at 6 pm
- Half Day Pass $60 per day, morning or afternoon
To purchase Day Passes, simply fill out the Day Camp Registration Form and choose from among the Music School Day Pass options provided.
After making your payment, you can register to use the Music School Day Pass for any day, in any camp, at any location for up to one year, with limits. IMPORTANT! Please note: Music School Day Pass spots are limited and offered on a first-come-first-served basis. Spots are reserved by purchase, payment and then completion of the Music School Day Pass portion of the Day Camp Registration Form. With rare exception, we require 24 hours notice of a parent's intent to use a Music School Day Pass. The more advance notice you provide by completing the form, the more likely it is there will be a spot open for a student. You should assume that your enrollment dates are accepted once you receive a confirmation message from a CMC Atlanta Director or authorized faculty member.
