EveryDay Sing Stream

Written by

Over the next few weeks, we're adding a variety of new information and tools to the AMP Spot.  This week, we're introducing the EveryDay Sing Stream.

Singing is a great thing. Everyone can and should sing. For young musicians, not only is it fun and apparently natural (have you ever met someone who doesn't or never did sing?), but good teachers know that singing also provides a vehicle for covering multiple areas of skill and concept development. Students develop their ear and their minds: melodic and harmonic patterns, tuning, blending, rhythm, articulation, feel, emotion, words. It's pretty remarkable thing, how much we learn from singing.

This power for singing to teach is exactly why we offer the EveryDay Sing, each and every day for AMP and Core students. We want you to know what your kids are singing. I imagine some of you want to sing with them, and we'd like to make that easier.  This week, we're launching the EveryDay Sing Stream on the AMP Blog Spot for you to see and hear what's happening in EveryDay Sing. It's not just a list of tunes. We've listed songs that are on the play list right now, and even better, we've compiled some tools for most of the titles. Click on a song title, and you'll find:

  • lyrics for you to download and print,
  • chord changes or lead sheets (for those of you who play an instrument),
  • and youtube videos of artists performing the songs, kind of like the faculty are with the kids (same tempo, feel, etc.)

We hope you enjoy this new tool!
