Transportation Logistics

Written by

The most frequently asked question, "How does the transportation system work for AMP?"

In all locations where we offer the Afterschool Music Program, we operate our own shuttles, using vehicles we own and our faculty and staff employees.  Our goals are, first and foremost, for the ride to be safe, second, the routes to be efficient, and third, the experience to be as enjoyable, or at least, as hassle free as possible for all our AMP students.

It's easy to take care of the logistics for your child(ren).  How it works:

  • Please inform your child's teacher and principal what days your child will be riding the bus to the Music Center
  • We also provide the school and the drivers with up-to-date lists
  • Your child will be placed on the Music Center bus by their teacher and delivered to our front door
  • The buses and shuttles stop right in front of the Music Center or in our parking lots, where CMC faculty are waiting outside
  • Children are checked in by faculty and staff as they arrive.

What do we do if your child does not come as expected?

If your child will be absent on an AMP day, please complete the AMP Absence/Change Form found here in the AMP & Camp section of our site (under the Resources Menu)and under the "Contact Us" section of our website.  Information from this completed form is directed to all faculty and administrators so we know not to expect your child on the bus that day.

If your child is expected on the bus and does not arrive, we first call the school to make sure your child was actually placed on the bus or shuttle, or, more likely, if they are absent or went home early and the AMP Schedule Change Form was not completed.  Music Center faculty follow up with additional phone calls until a firm answer to child's whereabouts can be determined.  Because the transfer between school, bus, and the Music Center is seamless and always supervised by adults, it usually only takes a minute or two to find needed answers.  Parents completing the Absence/Change Form alleviates any of this investigative work and is appreciated by all involved!
