Beethoven's "Appasionata"

Written by

Ludwig van Beethoven – Piano Sonata No. 23, opus 57

Such as the Moonlight Sonata, the title “Appasionata” (Passionate) was not given by Beethoven. It came later on, by a publisher of the piece in 1838.  This sonata was composed in 1804 and dedicated to Count Franz von Brunswick. This intense and difficult sonata has been described as revolutionary, tempestuous, stormy, emotional, to list just a few.

0:00 1st movement - Allegro assai

10:00 2nd movement - Andante con moto

16:20 3rd movement - Allegro ma non troppo - Presto
