F. Chopin – Grande Valse Brilliant

Written by

Frederic Chopin – Grande Valse Brilliant Opus 18 in E-flat Major

This is Chopin’s first published waltz, in 1834. This piece became particularly famous when, in 1909, Igor Stravinsky made an orchestral arrangement of this waltz for Sergei Diaghilev's ballet Les Sylphides.

The following video is the full performance of the piece by Valentina Lisitsa.  You can also watch Lang-Lang’s partial performance of this piece while ballet dancers execute a modern choreography for it.
